𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 At American Dance Institute (ADI), caregiver-participation toddler dance classes are designed for children ages 2½–4. A parent or another familiar caregiver joins the child, making the first experience with dance shared and supportive. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 Age is the starting point, but toddlers develop at different rates. Your child does not need previous dance experience, polished steps, or perfect attention. Helpful signs include an interest in music or movement, a growing ability to respond to simple cues, and a willingness to participate briefly with your support. Some toddlers jump in immediately. Others watch first, stay close to their caregiver, or join in for short bursts. Those can all be normal first-class responses. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 Children and caregivers explore music, playful movement, and simple activities together. The purpose is an age-appropriate introduction to a group-class routine—not formal technique or a polished performance. Parents, grandparents, nannies, and other familiar caregivers are welcome to participate. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿? Choose comfortable clothing that allows easy movement. Bare feet or socks with grip are appropriate for this program. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 If your child is between 2½ and 4, a caregiver-participation class can be a gentle way to explore dance together.
