Prep Camps & Mock Auditions

Greater Seattle area cast members of the 2017 Great Russian Nutcracker.


Prepare for the Seattle auditions of the Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet by polishing steps that will be included in the audition and what to expect in the audition.

Workshops and Mock Auditions

Open to all dancers ages 6-18 in the greater Seattle area who have had at least 1 year of ballet training and are currently enrolled in a ballet class.

NUTCRACKER PREP WORKSHOPS

In the Nutcracker Prep Camps, dancers will learn steps that will be in the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker audition.

NUTCRACKER MOCK AUDITION

Participate in a simulated audition and receive valuable feedback & tips from our acting audition judges.

Dress Code
Any solid colored-leotard and tights are acceptable and ballet slippers. Hair for girls should be pulled back into a secure ballet bun.

If You Are Cast In The Performance

Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet Audition

All auditioning dancers must pre-register for the actual audition on Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet's website here: Nutcracker Audition Form.

To prepare for the audition/rehearsal process, we recommend that parents and dancers carefully read through the FAQ's for Student page on Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet's website. It has helpful information about rehearsal policies, costuming, and performance FAQs.

Cost

Cast dancers pay a $50 audition fee (paid via the Nutcracker Audition Form) and $200 rehearsal fee payable to ADI.  The rehearsal fees are due before the first ongoing rehearsal. 

Rehearsal Location

Rehearsals on September 6th will be held at American Dance Institute's Shoreline Studio 2, 1240 NE 175th St C, Shoreline, WA 98155. Rehearsal on September 7th will be held at ADI Greenwood, 8001 Greenwood Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103

Ongoing Rehearsals from September 21st- November 16th will be held at American Dance Institute's Greenwood Studio 2, 8001 Greenwood Ave North, Seattle WA 98103.

Rehearsal Schedule

If cast, dancers need to be available to learn the choreography from Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet's audition director on September 6th after the audition and September 7th between 10:00am-5:00pm.

Note: They will not need to be there the whole time but for an hour (plus or minus) within that time frame for their particular group to learn the choreography from the Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet rehearsal director. Actual time is TBD and will be announced after the audition casting is finished.

You will be assigned a 1-hour rehearsal time, approximately, on Saturday and/or Sunday, sometime between the hours of 3:00-9:00 pm. This will be your assigned rehearsal time each week from September 21st – November 16th

Schedule subject to change pending additional rehearsal requirements.

Nutcracker Performance Dates

There will be two Nutcracker performances in Seattle, 1:00pm and 5:00pm on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Dancers may be cast to perform in either one or both shows.
