Mommy and Me Classes: At this early age, your child begins to learn in a classroom setting and will experience tremendous advancement in movement skills and ability to follow directions.

Dance Classes For Toddlers: Mommy and Me classes are recommeded by the American Academy of Pediatrics to develop healthy muscles and enhance flexibility.

Preschool Activities: This class does a wonderful job preparing children for preschool, the arts, science, math, music, sports,  and more.

Your child's cognitive development improves with dance movement unlike any other kind of activity.

Dig Deeper: The Effects of a Creative Dance and Movement Program on the Social Competence of Head Start Preschoolers

The effects of an eight-week instructional program in creative dance/movement on the social competence of preschool children were assessed in this study utilizing a scientifically rigorous design. Forty preschool children from a large Head Start program were randomly assigned to participate in either an experimental dance program or an attention control group. Teachers and parents, blind to the children's group membership, rated children's social competence both before and after the program, using English and Spanish versions of the Social Competence Behavior Evaluation: Preschool Edition. The results revealed significantly greater positive gains over time in the children's social competence for the experimental group compared with the control group. Small-group creative dance instruction appears to be an excellent mechanism for enhancing social competence and improving behavior. (edited for brevity)

Mommy and Me Classes /Dance Classes for Toddlers: Why the Greenwood classes are free of charge.

Mommy and Me classes are offered free of charge to the parents and children of Greenwood/Phinney Ridge for a couple of reasons. First, I've been offering these classes for over 25 years and I know first hand the tremendous benefits and value that Mommy and Me classes bring to children in their most important developmental stage. And second, it is another way that I can express my appreciation to our Greenwood/Phinney Ridge community for their 27 years of patronage.

I love my community.
