Children & Competition

"Young children have yet to develop a healthy perspective with wich to frame ballet's competitiveness. Bad expereinces can damage a child's self image and dampen their enthusiasim for ballet. To protect fragile self-images, we encourage young students to first discover their 'own best self', not to compare themselves to others who may have more or less natural ability. We dance for the love of dance!"

Meet Your Irish Dance Instructors

Irish dancing class, instructor Janelle Jones, Childrens Irish Dance Classes Seattle

Janelle Jones began Irish dancing at the wee age of 5 and competed on the West Coast and in Canada until the age of 13 at both the local and National level. In 1998 she rekindled her passion for competition and rejoined the Comerford School of Irish Dance.

Jessica Legreid teaches Irish dancing classes, Irish dance, kid's Irish dancing near me, Irish step dance for American Dance Institute.

Jessica began Irish dancing at the wee age of 6 with the Deely-Smith School of Irish Dance in the San Francisco Bay Area. She danced competitively up through her high school years, competing at a championship level across the western United States.

I am definitely a fan!

My daughter has taken pre-Irish, and now Irish, and a creative dance class for a birthday party where we rented a Studio at ADI for a couple of hours. In all cases, I was impressed with the instructors...and they are great with the kids. The office is very helpful and responsive as well. The prices are reasonable.

From my experience with the classes we've taken, they focus on teaching the dance and not doing showy performances with fancy costumes (where your child is on stage for 3 minutes).  My daughter is enjoying dance and learning a lot. I'm definitely a fan.
