Famous Ballet Stories  Camp

Come celebrate the joy of dancing as classic Ballet stories come to life. Each camp will begin with a Pre-Ballet class, and dancers will learn basic dance steps and explore movement concepts such as size, level, speed, relationships, pathways, shapes and more.

Each day we will read a famous Ballet stories like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Firebird or Swan Lake.

We will watch excerpts from the ballet while making a craft related to the Ballet of the Day. The dance concepts and steps learned earlier in the class will be used to dance out the story to the famous Ballet soundtrack..

On the last day of camp, parents are invited for the last half hour for a presentation showing what the children have learned.

Attire is a leotard, ballet slippers and bare legs for girls, assuming the weather will be warm. If it is not or if students prefer, tights may be worn. Boys wear shorts or black tights, T-shirt and ballet slippers. Feel free to check our swap box to see if there are any ballet slippers that fit.
