Issana has over 25 years of training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, modern, and tap, so you can expect a stylistically integrated approach to Issana's classes - frequently returning to dance foundations to improve technique. Always remember the basics! She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology - both from the University of Washington.
Issana's most recent appearance in the dance scene has included Seattle Theater Group's 2017 'Dance THIS' production, performing original works by American dance legend Donald Mckayle, Kari-lee Florentine, and Nanave Radford. She has also been a member of local Seattle dance groups - Black Floor Dance Collective and En L'air Dance Collective - both created to give back to the community and inspire healing through the arts.
As a Seattle-native, Issana is humbled to have grown up in a rich cultural scene and is excited by any opportunities to contribute to the community. She believes in providing everyone the chance to find their inner groove and personal forms of expression in fun and positive learning environments.
When she isn't at the dance studio or on stage, you may find her working just down the street at Woodland Park Zoo, hiking trails anywhere and everywhere, or trying new foods enriched by our diverse community. She looks forward to dancing with you in class!
