Tap
(Ages 7 through Adults)

Poetry in motion: Gregory Hines, Gene Kelly, Fred and Ginger.

We can get those two left feet moving like they were a right and a left. This class develops the elements of a Tap Dance vocabulary, musicality (rhythm, timing and phrasing) and individual style while encouraging tap dance as a contemporary dance form. As soon as the tap shoes go on, students begin exploring the sounds and rhythms made possible through this unique American dance style.

Children’s Tap Attire:
Girls wear Danskin style # 2905, Red short sleeve nylon leotard, black Dance pants and black tap shoes.
Boys wear black dance pants or sweats, red T-shirt and black tap shoes.

Attire is available at Centerstage Capezio 5012 University NE. (527-4697) Or check our shoe swap box.

NOTE: When purchasing tap shoes, please ask for tap shoes with elastic ties so children do not have to tie their tap shoes when they switch from creative dance to tap.
