Summer Dance Camp: Famous Ballet Stories

Come celebrate the joy of dancing through the telling of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Firebird and Swan Lake. Each camp will begin with a creative movement class (4 – 6 yr olds) or Pre-Ballet class (5-7 yr olds) class learning basic dance steps and also exploring movement concepts such as size, levels, speed, relationships, pathways, shapes and more. Each day we will read the story of one of these famous ballets while enjoying a small snack and then we will watch excerpts of the ballet while making a craft that is used in the ballet. The dance concepts and steps learned earlier in the class will be used to dance out the story to the famous Ballet soundtrack. The last half hour of each camp on Friday will be a 30 minute performance for parents, friends and family showing what the children have learned.
